Boehringer Ingelheim – Beatbox Cough

Lung cancer has one of the lowest survival rates, partly due to late diagnosis. We surprised commuters on the their daily commute with a ‘cough chorus’ stunt involving beat-boxers to highlight that sometimes a cough is not just a cough. A video of the stunt was shared across multiple platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, supported by media outreach.

We also worked with Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and KOLs to spread the word, and our dedicated SEO programme captured users who had searched for words relating to a persistent cough. The campaign video received over 100,000 targeted views and all media coverage included the ‘act quickly on a persistent cough’ key message.

The campaign was covered in all national top-tier online outlets, there were more than 100k views of the video and 88% said the campaign increased their awareness of a persistent cough as a symptom of lung cancer.
