Medical Device Regulation Changes

A new era is approaching for medical devices, writes Account Director Lauren Walker.

The 26th of May is a critical day. It’s on this date that the new Medical Devices Regulation (EU) 2017/45 comes into force, and it’s from this date that manufacturers of these products will have a three-year transition period to comply.

Proprietary Association of Great Britain (PAGB) is working through the process with member companies and Chief Executive John Smith has shared his advice and top tips to help members secure approvals. Watch our video to find out more.

We at Pegasus have been working with PAGB since January 2016 on a comprehensive campaign to empower people to self care for self-treatable conditions and help rebalance the tone of coverage in the media.

Most recently, we’ve supported PAGB in driving positive stories on important industry matters, such as the reclassification of medicines like sildenafil, in addition to delivering crisis communications for a range of issues such as branded vs. generics.
